The Story

This 2015 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide rolled into our Sturgis setup ready for a major audio upgrade—and we hit just about every part of the system.

We started by replacing the factory speakers with Rockford Fosgate TMS14-65 speakers in both the front fairing and rear Tour-Pak locations. Designed specifically for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, these speakers provide a substantial improvement in clarity and output while maintaining a clean, factory-style fit.

To give the upgraded speakers the power they need, we installed a Rockford Fosgate M5-800X4 four-channel Element Ready amplifier. Built to withstand heat, moisture, vibration, and the demanding environment of a motorcycle, the M5 delivers plenty of clean power for a system that needs to remain clear at highway speeds.

The factory radio was also replaced with a Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD14 direct-fit digital media receiver. The PMX-HD14 brings modern audio performance and connectivity into the factory dash while retaining a clean appearance designed specifically for 2014+ Harley-Davidson Touring models.

We took the technology another step further with the addition of a ZZAIR-Pro2, adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability for convenient access to music, navigation, calls, and other compatible smartphone features.

The finished system gives this Tri Glide a serious improvement from front to back—better speakers, more power, an upgraded source unit, and modern smartphone connectivity, all professionally installed during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

For a bike built to rack up miles, this is the kind of audio upgrade that makes every one of those miles a whole lot more enjoyable.
