The Story

Long hours behind the wheel deserve an entertainment system that keeps up. This 1997 Freightliner Classic came to Sound Connection looking for a modern audio upgrade that would improve both convenience and sound quality without sacrificing valuable dash space.

We installed a Pioneer AVH-3500NEX multimedia receiver, a feature-packed touchscreen radio designed to fit a Single DIN opening. Despite its compact footprint, the receiver delivers a full-size touchscreen experience with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, CD/DVD playback, and WebLink, allowing the driver to access compatible apps through a simple USB connection.

To complete the system, we designed and built a custom powered subwoofer enclosure that delivers deep, clean bass while maximizing the limited space available inside the cab. The custom enclosure provides a factory-quality fit and dramatically improves the overall listening experience, making music clearer, fuller, and far more enjoyable during long days on the road.

The finished result gives this Freightliner the technology and sound quality of a modern truck while maintaining a clean, professional installation. Whether crossing the country or making local deliveries, this Classic now offers premium entertainment that makes every mile more enjoyable.
