The Story

Just because a truck is over two decades old doesn't mean it has to feel outdated. This 2000 GMC Sierra 3500 came to Sound Connection looking for a technology upgrade that would make everyday driving easier while preserving the truck the owner already knows and loves.

We installed a modern floating touchscreen receiver that transforms the driving experience with a large, easy-to-read display, smartphone integration, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation capability, and hands-free calling. To improve safety and visibility, we also added a backup camera, making parking, hitching trailers, and maneuvering in tight spaces much easier than relying on mirrors alone.

The floating screen design brings today's technology into the cab without requiring the owner to purchase a brand-new vehicle. The result is a truck that feels dramatically more modern while maintaining the rugged character that has made these GMC pickups so popular for decades.

Whether you drive a classic truck, an older daily driver, or a work vehicle that's still going strong, modern upgrades like touchscreen radios, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, backup cameras, and driver convenience features can completely change your experience behind the wheel. Sometimes the smartest upgrade isn't replacing your truck—it's upgrading the one you already own.
