The Story

This wasn't just an audio upgrade—it was a complete vehicle transformation. The owner of this 2002 Honda Civic EX wanted to create a car that sounded incredible, added modern technology, improved safety, and stood apart from anything else on the road.

The audio system was built around a Rockford Fosgate T1500-1BD amplifier driving a Rockford Fosgate T2S1-13 13-inch subwoofer housed in a custom-built enclosure. Up front, we installed AudioControl's D-6.1200 DSP amplifier paired with Kenwood Excelon XR-1701 component speakers. Extensive sound deadening and F.A.S.T. Speaker Rings were added to maximize speaker performance, while a Big 3 electrical upgrade and dual XS Power D5100 batteries ensured the electrical system could easily support the increased demand.

Inside the cabin, we modernized the Civic with a Kenwood DNX697S multimedia receiver, bringing Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, navigation, and a dramatically improved user experience. A Kenwood DRV-A601WDP dash camera was also installed to provide front and rear recording for added security on every drive.

Security and convenience received just as much attention. A Compustar T12 remote start system was paired with an Alarm-IT security package and FT-KP2 touchpad, giving the owner multiple ways to secure and access the vehicle. We also installed 20Twenty Lighting LED headlight bulbs, professionally tinted every window, and added a HornBlasters PA100H air horn for a little extra personality.

To complete the build, we fabricated a custom amplifier mounting panel beneath the trunk floor, keeping the installation clean, organized, and protected. A roof rack and cargo carrier were added for additional storage, topped off with a Heise HD-BD20 LED light bar to improve visibility and give the Civic an unmistakable custom appearance.

The finished result is a one-of-a-kind Civic that showcases what happens when every upgrade is planned as part of one complete vision. From premium audio and modern technology to custom fabrication, lighting, security, and utility, this build demonstrates that no project is too ambitious for Sound Connection.
