The Story

The Mk4 Volkswagen Jetta has become a favorite among enthusiasts thanks to its timeless styling and enjoyable driving dynamics. This 2003 Jetta GLI came to Sound Connection looking for modern technology and significantly more low-end performance while maintaining a clean, functional interior.

We upgraded the factory radio with a Pioneer multimedia receiver, bringing Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and a modern touchscreen interface to the dashboard. The updated receiver completely transforms the driving experience while giving the owner easy access to navigation, streaming music, and hands-free communication.

To add serious bass, we installed dual Phoenix Gold 12-inch subwoofers powered by a Phoenix Gold amplifier. Instead of taking up unnecessary cargo space, we fabricated a hidden amplifier mount inside the factory trunk storage compartment, creating a clean, factory-inspired installation that protects the amplifier while preserving the trunk's everyday usability.

The finished result delivers the best of both worlds—modern technology, powerful bass, and a professional installation that looks right at home in the vehicle. It's proof that even a twenty-year-old enthusiast car can be transformed with the right equipment and thoughtful craftsmanship.
