Behind the Build

The Story

The Ford Bronco was built for adventure, but its factory audio system leaves plenty of room for improvement. This 2022 Bronco came into Sound Connection ready for a complete audio overhaul that could deliver premium sound quality on the highway, around town, or with the roof off on the trail.

At the heart of the system is an AudioControl D6.1200 six-channel amplifier with built-in DSP, providing clean power and precise tuning for every speaker in the vehicle. An AudioControl LC1.800 monoblock amplifier handles bass duties, giving the subwoofer all the power it needs while maintaining excellent control and efficiency.

For the front stage, we installed Focal Flax 6.5-inch component speakers, known for their incredibly detailed sound, natural vocals, and outstanding dynamics. Low-end performance comes from a Rockford Fosgate P3S-D412 slim 12-inch subwoofer mounted in a custom-built sealed enclosure engineered specifically for the Bronco's tailgate. By designing the enclosure to the exact specifications of the subwoofer, we achieved deep, accurate bass while preserving valuable cargo space and maintaining a clean, factory-quality appearance.

The finished system delivers the kind of sound that completely transforms the driving experience. Crystal-clear highs, detailed mids, and bass that hits hard without overpowering the music—this Bronco absolutely RIPS. Whether you're cruising with the top off or heading deep into the backcountry, this is the kind of premium audio system that makes every mile more enjoyable.
